Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: SMEDAN and ILO Host ‘Meet with the CEO’ Event in Abuja.
In a significant move to bolster the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and empower women in the entrepreneurial landscape, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN) joined hands with the International Labour Organization (ILO) to host a remarkable event titled “Meet with the CEO.” This insightful program took place on September 13th at the corporate headquarters in Abuja, where a dynamic interaction unfolded between key stakeholders, including SMEDAN, NAFDAC, BOI, SON, NEPC, CUSTOMS, NIGERIA COLLATERAL REGISTRY, and women CEOs. The goal was clear: to address the challenges faced by women-owned businesses and pave the way for a brighter future.
The “Meet with the CEO” event was a gathering of minds, a convergence of expertise and passion for women entrepreneurs. It brought together influential organizations and thought leaders in the field, offering a platform for women-owned businesses to voice their concerns and collectively seek solutions.
Throughout the interactive session, participants had the opportunity to engage with representatives from SMEDAN, NAFDAC, BOI, SON, NEPC, CUSTOMS, NIGERIA COLLATERAL REGISTRY, and accomplished women CEOs. The program’s focus was to deliberate on the challenges that women-owned businesses encounter daily and, most importantly, to chart a clear and actionable path forward.
The presence of the Secretary and Treasurer of the FEBWE Abuja Chapter added a significant dimension to the event. Their participation underscored the commitment of organizations like FEBWE to support and champion the cause of women in business.
