On September 12, 2023, a pivotal meeting unfolded at the heart of Oyo State’s administrative quarters, marking a significant step toward empowering women entrepreneurs in the region. The Oyo State Government played host to a delegation from ECOWAS FEBWE Nigeria, Oyo State, in a cordial courtesy visit to the esteemed Secretary to Oyo State Government, Prof. Olanike Adeyemo. This gathering brought together key figures from various government departments, including the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. (Mrs.) Toyin Balogun; Barr. Tilewa Folami, the Director General of Oyo State Investment & Public Private Partnership Agency (OYSIPA); Mrs. Modupe Adesina, representing the Commissioner for Commerce; and the Special Adviser to the SSG, Mrs. Olanike Akanji.At the heart of this meeting was the passionate and insightful presentation by Olubunmi Olalekan, the National Treasurer and Oyo State Coordinator of ECOWAS FEBWE Nigeria. She introduced ECOWAS FEBWE, an acronym for the Federation of Business Women Entrepreneurs, which is fully endorsed and supported by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
